Jane’s approach to counselling is client-centred, strengths-based and draws on attachment, trauma, grief, loss and family systems theory. Jane is equally passionate about providing quality counselling to adopted people, donor conceived people and those affected by a DNA surprise such as the NPE (not parent expected) community as well as the parents of these individuals, particularly parents who have lost a child to adoption. Jane has extensive experience in working with those affected by the Forced Adoption era in Australia.
As there are currently no government funded support services in Queensland, Jane is also able to provide assistance with understanding direct to consumer DNA testing results (Ancestry.com and similar) and donor-linking support for those in the donor conception community. Additionally Jane is keen to provide support to those in the NPE (not parent expected) community and others affected by a DNA surprise.
Jane is also passionate about providing counselling to anybody who as experienced alternate forms of grief and loss, family separation or estrangement and those simply seeking to live a more authentic and intentional life.
Group work / workshops / Training / Education
Jane is an experienced group facilitator, trainer and educator who can develop and deliver tailor made therapeutic or connection groups, workshops, retreats, programs & lectures for the adoption, donor conceived and NPE communities.
Supervision
Jane is experienced in providing individual and group supervision to those providing services to individuals and families affected by adoption.
Project work & Consultancy
If you are an organisation who specialises in the aforementioned issues, Jane would love to assist by with project work or consultancy that will assist you to meet the needs of your client group.
Jane has experience in developing resources including newsletters, social media pages, website content, and podcasts in addition to event management.
